Tot School

It's been so long since I've posted, my apologies to anyone who reads this ......does anyone read this?  Doesn't matter, a lot has been happening for us; first we pulled Cameron out of preschool, for various reasons, the two main reasons being we as parent's were not happy with the school, there were a few issues with the staff, and since September Cameron has still had really rough mornings crying that he didn't want to go to preschool.  So Matt and I decided to do what we thought was best for our little guy and pulled him out.  So that he has some kind of structured learning I've gotten together with a few other moms with toddlers and we've formed a kind of co-op toddler school community.  I was very excited and thought it would be absolutely wonderful for the three of us, (Cam, K and I).  I was half right: Cam loves it, K loves it and at the same time causes a lot of distraction, and me.......... I'm going nuts.  I was talking to a friend about how we think so quickly we are able to create solutions to problems and yet maybe if I were to slow down, and talk with my God about this situation, because it is true that he cares about my babies, that maybe God's ideas would be even better than my own.  Hmmm so we're sticking with tot school thru then end of the typical school year and in the mean time praying for what will bring peace and life to all of the Lov's.  I'm pretty excited to find out what that will be, and excited that though I made a mistake this time, my God is gracious and patient and will lead us back into what he has planned for us.  Thank you papa!

Here are some recent photo favorites:

Cameron with his friend Hailey riding the tractor.

Kerrington and her kookoo going for a walk at the ranch, it was cold and sunny!  She loved her
sunglasses and hat, kept them on the entire time, WITH attitude!
Matt and his buddies Darren and Brian getting ready for a paintball war.

I am sorry things have been tough with homeschooling Cam! That is something Chris and I have been thinking about for Lily (even though it is still a few years off) and I really appreciate your honesty about it!

I taught kindergarten before I had Lily and Lyndsie, let me tell you, some of those kids had never seen a book before when they entered the classroom. Many had uninvolved parents and most did not attend preschool. Yet, almost all of them were reading at a basic level by the end of the school year. My point isn't that preschool doesn't matter but rather that the things that you already do with Cam (read together, say ABCs, practice numbers, identify colors, and just talking to him) are the most important things. I am 100% positive you are doing a much better job than you give yourself credit for!

I hope that is just a little bit of encouragement for you and again, thanks for sharing!

Lyndsie-
I rarely get to talk/hear/see you anymore, but I just read this latest post and was so blessed by what you had to say. We just pulled our Sammy out of PreK for some of the very same reasons and am kind of just living in the bubble of realizing it is HARD to do the right thing for your kid sometimes. Way to go for keeping Cameron at the front of your priorities- it gets better everyday! i promise you!
